I have two versions of Pyukumuku: a simpler normal form with the star-shaped mouth, and a longer version that includes the fun punching arm.

Being in Canada, these were the specific brands and colours I was able to find and use for my project:
Black = Loops & Threads, Impeccable, Chocolate
White = Loops & Threads, Soft Classic, Off White
Pink = Patons Grace Yarn, Lotus
Grey = any scrap
Hook size: 3.50 mm or 3.75 mm
I used a 3.75 mm hook, but it’s always up to your own discretion. The best advice is to find the hook that is the closest in size to your yarn.
Pins
Scissors
Stitch markers
Darning needle
Using black yarn and 3.75 mm hook.

Using white yarn and 3.75 mm hook.
Continue from R19 of the Head/Body.
You can change yarn colour on the last stitch's pull through.
R20: invdec x5 [5]
Cut black yarn. Tie off and stuff inside.
R21: FLO: inc x5 [10]
R22: ([sc, dc x2] in the same stitch, [dc x2, sc] in the same stitch) x5 []
Cut a long tail. pull the tail through the last stitch.
With a darning needle, weave the tail through the 2 dc at the top of each petal.
Pull tight, you should get a star shape.
Thread the tail through the center of the star and hide the rest of the tail.
R22: Make the flower shape
Weave tail through the dc of each petal

Using pink yarn and 3.75mm hook.
R1: mr 4 [4]
R2: inc x4 [8]
R3-9: sc x8 [8]
Stuff a little, leave a long tail for sewing.
Using pink yarn and 3.75mm hook.
R1: mr 4 [4]
R2: (inc, sc) x2 [6]
R3-6: sc x6 [6]
Do not stuff, leave a long tail for sewing.
Pin the spikes as indicated, the big spikes are in the middle.
Sew them in place, refer to video for how I like to sew my limbs flush with the body.
Cut a piece of white yarn about 40 cm long.
Embroider the 5 point star.
Tie the ends together and hide them inside the body.
When looking at the star mouth, follow the horizontal lengths, skip a st and pin this spot for the eyes.
Using a scrap piece of pink yarn, embroider over this spot 3-4 times to make the eyes.
You can also needle felt it if you prefer.
Basic: Mouth & eyes
Arm version: mouth & eyes
Find the center point between the 4 spikes in the front, pin this point.
Embroider a few stitches in different directions over this spot.
You may also opt to needle felt this if you prefer.
Using white yarn and 3.75mm hook.
Make 5 fingers by crocheting up to suggested round.
Finish off and leave a small tail on the first 4 fingers.
When finishing the pinky, do not cut yarn as we will continue to join all the fingers.
R1: mr 5 [5]
R2-9: sc x5 [5]
Suggested finger lengths:
Thumb: R1-R8
Index, Middle, Ring: R1-R9
Pinky: R1-R6
The next section begins at R7 as you will be connecting all the fingers, the last finger you crochet should be the pinky, which ends at R6.
Connect the fingers in this order: Pinky > Ring > Middle > Index
R7: sc x2 on Pinky, sc x2 on Ring, sc x2 on Middle, sc x 5 on Index,
sk the next st on Middle, sc x2 on Middle,
sk the next st on Ring, sc x2 on Ring,
sk the next st on Pinky, sc x2 on Pinky [17]
Using the tails from the fingers, sew the skipped stitches together to close any holes between fingers, about 2-3 stitches per hole.
R8-10: sc x17 [17]
R11: sc x8, sc x5 on Thumb, sc x9 on main hand [22]
Use the tail from the thumb to sew the connection hole closed.
Insert pipe cleaner into the fingers. I folded a pipe cleaner in half for each finger.
R12: (invdec, sc x9) x2 [20]
R13: (invdec, sc x8) x2 [18]
R14: (invdec, sc x7) x2 [16]
R15: (invdec, sc x2) x4 [12]
R16: invdec, sc x10 [11]
R17: sc x11 [11]
R18: invdec, sc x9 [10]
R19: sc x10 [10]
R20: invdec, sc x8 [9]
R21: sc x9 [9]
R22: invdec, sc x7 [8]
R23: sc x8 [8]
R24: invdec, sc x6 [7]
R25: sc x7 [7]
R26: invdec, sc x5 [6]
R27: sc x6 [6]
R28: invdec, sc x4 [5]
R29: sc x5 [5]
Repeat R30 until you reach the end of the pipe cleaners.
Finish off by sewing tail through all the loops.
Twist the end of the arm into the mouth hole and adjust the fingers as you like.
