A whimsical little clown, Mime Jr. is one of my favourite Pokemon because of its beautiful bright colours clashing in a jestical charm. This intermediate pattern will challenge you in unconventional shapes, colour changes, and the use of a modified popcorn stitch, but don't worry, I have some videos to guide you along.

A huge thank you to my testers, I love their creativity in using what materials they have to make modifications to the pattern. Take a closer look at all the eyes, they all chose a different method and they all look so cute!
If you would like to become a tester for an upcoming pattern test, check the Open Pattern Tests page to apply.

1-3) Pin the hair pieces
1-3) Front view of hair
4) Hair sewn and 5) Legs sewn
6) Arms sewn
On the head, look for the beginning/end of R26 (pink FLO stitches).
Align the top middle of the large back hair piece with this point, pin in position.
To the left and right of the hair piece, leave a gap of about 1-2 stitches, then pin a side hair piece down.
Sew along the top of each hair piece and into the blue hat part of the body. If you don't want the hair flapping around, you can sew around the entire hair piece.
Pin the legs on the bottom, one on each side. Sew in place, you may need to stuff it a little as you sew it closed.
Poke the pipe cleaners into the body at the top where you want the arm to start, sew in place, then position as desired.
Pin the Belly Button in the middle of the body. Sew in place.
Squish the nose so it is elongated. Pin the nose horizontally in the middle of the face. Sew in place.
7-8) Nose and belly sewn
Use pins to outline the shape of the eye. Each eye is about 2 stitches wide and 3 stitches high.
Fill in the oval shape by needle felting an oval shape with black wool
Tester Tip!
If you want to use safety eyes, you can try 14mm ones, placed between R29 & R30, about 6 stitches apart.
Needle felt a small white dot in the middle of the black oval for the pupil.
Using a scrap piece of black yarn (or blue), embroider the mouth underneath the nose:
Bring your needle in from the right side of the face, come out at A
Go in at C, come out at B
Go over the strand (smile), and go back in the same hole at B
Tighten and adjust until desired smile
Exit in the same spot you came in at the right side of the face.
Tie a knot, cut the ends, tuck the rest inside the head.
