This was my first time calling upon my Trusted Testers (aka crocheters who have tested previous patterns for me) and I can't believe how many people wanted to help me out again and test my patterns. I love seeing their creativity in the little details like the eyes and mouth, everyone sewed the dimples in a different spot but they all look natural.
Also, some of them made 2?! I really appreciate all the work my testers put in 🤩

Hook size: 3.5 mm or 3.75mm or 4.0 mm
I used a 3.75mm hook, but it’s always up to your own discretion. The best advice is to find the hook that is the closest in size to your yarn.
Yarn: Acrylic Medium weight (4) in light pink and dark pink
Being in Canada, these were the specific brands and colours I was able to find and use for my project:
light pink = Caron, Simply Soft, Soft Pink
dark pink = Caron, Simply Soft, Watermelon
Safety eyes diameter 10mm (x2)
Typical additional notions will include: pins, scissors, stitch markers, darning needle
This is a beginner/intermediate pattern, meaning you should already know how to do crochet stitches (and colour change).
Using the light pink yarn, mr 6, then sl in the first st to close the circle.
Finish off and leave a long tail.
We will begin with the tail side to avoid as much sewing as possible at the end.
Using the 3.75mm hook with dark pink yarn.
R1: mr 6 [6]
R2: inc x6 [12]
R3: (inc, sc) x6 [18]
R4-5: sc x18 [18]
Finish off the first piece and leave a little tail. Make a second piece starting from R1 again. When you reach the end of R5, DO NOT CUT THE YARN.
For R6, you will continue on the first piece and loop back on the second piece to connect and finish round 6.
R6: sc x16 on first piece, sk last 2 stitches on 1st piece,
sk 2 stitches on 2nd piece, sc x16 on 2nd piece. [32]
There will be 2 stitches on each piece that are overlapping. Use the tail from the first piece and your darning needle to sew those stitches together.
R7: (invdec, sc x6) x4 [28]
R8: (invdec, sc x5) x4 [24]
R9: (invdec, sc x4) x4 [20]
R10: (invdec, sc x3) x4 [16]
Put the safety eyes between R9 and R10 on both sides, just above the imaginary middle line. You might want to finish R11 before placing the backing of the safety eyes.
If you want, sew dimples onto the body anywhere below the eyes and as you see fit. Stuff a little.
Using the 3.75mm hook with light pink yarn.
R11: BLO: sl x16 [16]
R12: BLO: (dec, sc x2) x4 [12]
R13: invdec x6 [6]
R14: invdec x3 [3]
Cut a long tail. Sew through each FLO of the last round and pull tight to make a nice pointy mouth.
Hide the tail.
If you haven't yet, sew dimples onto the body anywhere below the eyes and as you see fit.
